At the Heart of Whitford Village
Whitford is a small village in the rural parish of Shute in East Devon. Our village hall provides a high quality, welcoming and safe space for meetings, classes and events. Flowerpot Festival raises £1500
The first Whitford Flowerpot Festival was held on 1st and 2nd June 2024 was hugely successful. It raised just over £1500 which will be put towards payment for the new disabled ramp and for renovation of the roof at Whitford Village Hall.
Beautiful weather encouraged people to walk around the village and admire the creativity of all those who made flowerpot sculptures. Teas and cakes, a BBQ, the bar and craft stalls were added attractions.
You will find more photographs of flowerpot sculptures in the ‘Past events’ section of the photo gallery on this website. If you have flowerpot sculpture photos that you would like to see in the gallery, you can email them to Louise, using the email: secretary@whitfordvillagehall.org.
Changes afoot after extensive trustee training
In 2023 the trustees of Whitford Village Hall successfully completed the New Start Devon: Enterprising Halls Programme. They have been working hard since then to apply everything that they learned on subjects such as: good governance, business planning, effective communication, financial management and fundraising, and sustainable energy use.
